Volunteer – St. Anne’s Parish (Camp Sunshine)
Brendan dedicates his time to Camp Sunshine, a place for children with life-threatening illnesses to find some happiness.

Our recipients are ambassadors of this endeavor and representatives of our mission. We are so proud to announce them as our first recipients of the Tryumph Foundation Scholarship.

Thank you again for sharing our vision. Tryumph Foundation is successful because of your support and generosity.

Robin participates in food drive to benefit Haven from Hunger - November 21st

Skipping dinner. Eating less. Giving up food in order to pay rent. These are choices that thousands of people in Peabody and Salem face every day. The Haven from Hunger is a critical link between food and people. The Haven serves dinner and operates a food pantry 4 days a week, serving over 100 people daily. Hunger impacts people in all walks of life. The Haven reaches them all - from working families to senior citizens. Anyone who comes to the door for dinner is welcome - without question or qualification.

On November 21, 2013, Robin Lang conducted a food drive at her workplace, HCC Specialty, to benefit Haven from Hunger. There was overwhelming support for the Haven and we were able to raise money and box loads full of food and toiletry items to help those in need.

The Haven from Hunger recognizes the vital importance of providing basic nourishment to those who are hungry - but much more is needed. Together with the solidarity and commitment of our staff, volunteers, and community, the Haven strives to be a gateway to positive change in the lives of the people it serves and seeks to enlarge guests' capacity for self-help and reconnect them to the broader community. Through its programs and its commitment to combating hunger and homelessness, the Haven provides the support and respect guests need to become self-sufficient and regain hope for the future. The Haven is a place of humanity, compassion, and dignity.

Please help the Haven provide a lifeline to our poorest neighbors:

Tryumph Foundation (Davina) is invited by Youth Villages as guest for The 12th Annual Women of Excellence Breakfast - October 30th

The 12th Annual Women of Excellence Breakfast was sponsored by Youth Villages, and hosted by Attorney General Martha Coakley at the Revere Hotel, Boston. Founded in 1986, Youth Villages has built a national reputation for offering highly effective programs and services to help emotionally troubled children and their families throughout Massachusetts. This year four extraordinary women were recognized for doing important work to advance the lives of girls. With making a donation, and offering to participate as a volunteer, it was a touching experience to see just how many girls in Massachusetts need our help. This was an inspiring event were women came together to make a difference!

Elena and Ashley volunteer at Youth Villages

We are on a roll! Team members Elena and Ashley did some serious yard work at the Youth Villages on Tuesday. Youth Villages is an organization that seeks to rehabilitate troubled youths and their families so that the kids are able to remain living in their homes instead of entering into the custody of the state. Today, approximately 450,000 children are living in foster care in the United States. Statistically, most of them will not graduate from high, and will likely end up incarcerated or in a substance abuse rehabilitation program. Youth Villages strives to change this cycle by working with the families as a whole. Tryumph worked for several hours on Tuesday in an effort to create a relaxing and inviting atmosphere at the Arlington residence for those children who must temporarily be removed from their families. We planted flowers, hung bird houses, and refinished outside benches so that the kids have a welcoming place to sit outside.

Ashley volunteers at Camp Oasis

Team member Ashley Deplitch spent this past Saturday registering kids and teens for a unique summer camp. Camp Oasis, a camp developed by the CCFA, is a week long camp specifically designed for kids with Crohn's and ulcerative colitis. Ashley had the opportunity to meet the campers and help them register their medications before they departed for the New York Camp. Seeing what these kids endure with their myriad of medications and recognizing how resilient they are is very humbling. These campers, and their families, are simply inspiring.

Our First Blog Post

We are so excited to announce that Tryumph Foundation is officially open for business! 2013 has been a great year thus far with our Foundation securing its non-profit standing and receiving its certificate for fundraising. Our team has been hard at work building our website, networking with other organizations, and, most importantly, making an extra effort to volunteer in our communities. Over the next few months, we hope to launch our first official fundraising event and spread the word about our Foundation. We are already close to achieving our scholarship fund goal for 2014, and cannot wait to hand out our first scholarships to those deserving high school students! In the meantime, the Tryumph team will dedicated to raising money for our own Foundation, and giving our time to others. Keep volunteering!
